The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) has launched its 2026 calls for proposals to promote scientific culture and innovation. These calls aim to support initiatives that bring science closer to society, strengthen scientific advice for public policymaking, and foster evidence-informed public innovation.

Grants to Promote Scientific Culture and Innovation 2026
This call funds science communication and public engagement activities through several project categories, including science communication projects, annual programmes of activities for Science Culture and Innovation Units (UCC+I), science fairs, and singular projects in the fields of citizen science, Art, Science, Technology and Society (ASTS), and the Eclipse Trio initiative.

Fellowships for the Promotion of Scientific Culture and Innovation 2026
This call funds fellowships for researchers aimed at providing scientific advice and promoting knowledge exchange with the Spanish General State Administration and its public bodies, with the objective of contributing scientific evidence to address public policy challenges.
Each researcher may submit only one fellowship application, which must involve functional mobility with respect to their home institution.

Singular Projects for Public Innovation Culture
This funding scheme supports projects that foster collaboration between public administrations and the scientific community to integrate scientific evidence into the design and improvement of public policies, while also strengthening public trust in public administration.
