IDIVAL begins participant recruitment to test an innovative European mental‑wellbeing app

The Mental Illness Research Group at the Marqués de Valdecilla Research Institute (IDIVAL) has launched the participant recruitment phase for the user testing of the European project JA MENTOR, an initiative focused on developing digital tools aimed at promoting wellbeing and mental health in the population.

The study is aimed at the general population interested in emotional wellbeing, including people with an affinity for practices such as mindfulness, meditation or yoga, as well as university students—particularly those in the field of psychology.

As part of this project, participants are invited to evaluate HappApp, a free application designed to foster psychological wellbeing in everyday life. Available in several languages, the app offers short, practical exercises based on positive psychology and mindfulness, with the goal of improving overall wellbeing. It is important to note that it is not a clinical tool nor a treatment for mental health conditions.

Participation in the study is simple: interested individuals only need to download the app on their mobile device—no registration required—and use it for a two‑week period, exploring the content and selecting the exercises that best suit their preferences. After this period, they will receive within the app a link to a short anonymous questionnaire, aimed at gathering user experience and contributing to the improvement of the tool.

HappApp can be downloaded here:

• Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=is.happApp.app&pcampaignid=web_share

Participants’ feedback will be key to optimizing the quality of the application and guiding its future development within the European MENTOR project (Joint Action Mental Health Together).
