The Marqués de Valdecilla Research Institute (IDIVAL) will hold the seventh edition of the Good Clinical Practice ICH E6 (R3) Course from 9 to 18 November 2026, a training initiative aimed at professionals interested in clinical research and especially at biosanitary staff in Cantabria. The course will be delivered via online streaming, facilitating access to specialised, high‑quality training.
The main objective of the programme is to provide the knowledge required to participate in clinical trials in accordance with the principles of the International Council for Harmonisation (ICH) Good Clinical Practice E6 (R3) guidelines—a fundamental requirement to ensure scientific quality, participant safety, and the integrity of data obtained in clinical research projects.
A comprehensive view of clinical research
The course offers multidisciplinary training that covers all phases of clinical trial development, from the regulatory and ethical framework to risk management, monitoring, quality, handling of biological samples, data governance, and investigational medicinal product management. The programme combines theoretical sessions with round tables and discussion spaces to encourage the exchange of experiences among professionals from different fields.
The teaching staff is composed of specialists with extensive experience in clinical research, coming from the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital (HUMV), IDIVAL, the Cantabrian Health Service, the Regional Ministry of Health, and other organisations involved in health research. Their expertise will provide a practical perspective on all stages of the design, authorisation, conduct, and evaluation of clinical trials.
Training to strengthen research in Cantabria
The activity is aimed at predoctoral researchers, healthcare professionals, residents, and management staff, with a particular interest in promoting the participation of Primary Care and Nursing professionals in clinical research. This commitment aligns with the goal of further consolidating a cross‑cutting research culture within Cantabria’s healthcare system.
