THCS launches the 2026 Transnational Call “Access to Care” for projects on equitable access to healthcare

The European Partnership for Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS) launches its fourth Joint Transnational Call (JTC) with the aim of funding research and innovation projects that help ensure equitable access to and appropriate use of health and care services.
Through these projects, policy and decision-makers are expected to gain the knowledge and tools needed to implement the reallocation of resources as health and care systems undergo transformation to face new and ongoing challenges.
A total of 32 funding agencies are participating in this call.

Funding opportunities

THCS offers the opportunity to coordinate and optimize research and innovation efforts across Europe and partner countries, supporting the much-needed transformation of health and care systems.
Under this framework, the fourth Joint Transnational Call “Access to Care” aims to fund research and innovation projects that contribute to ensuring equitable access to and appropriate use of health and care services.

Through the funded projects, policy and decision-makers are expected to obtain the knowledge and tools necessary to implement the reallocation of resources, at a time when health systems are transitioning to respond to new and continuous challenges.

Projects funded under this call will build on existing evidence to provide innovative solutions that help key stakeholders reduce inequalities in access to and use of health and care services.
Projects should address how to improve access at all levels of the system, through financial models, service delivery models, and the creation of integrated and interdisciplinary care programs.
