The Marqués de Valdecilla Research Institute (IDIVAL) is located in the city of Santander.
It is open to the public from 09:00 hours to 14:00 hours, Monday to Friday.

Delegation of powers


Delegation of powers to the Director of Management, in addition to those provided for in article 36 of the Statutes of the Foundation:

1.- By agreement of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation dated 30/12/2013.

  • “Opening and closing of current and savings accounts of the Foundation in credit institutions and to make available electronic banking services and similar services. Likewise, the President of the Board of Trustees and the Director of Management are empowered to dispose of the Foundation’s accounts, being able to act indistinctly”.

2.- By agreement of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation dated 27/04/2014, the following powers of attorney are granted to the Director of Management, and are made public by means of a deed executed before the Notary Public of Santander Mr. Rafael Segura Báez on 11/05/2015, under number 512 of his protocol:

  • 1. To appear on behalf of the Foundation before courts, tribunals, public prosecutors’ offices, trade unions, delegations, juries, commissions, notaries, registers and in general all kinds of public or private offices, authorities and bodies of the State Administration, of the Autonomous Community Administration and of the Local Administration, including the Court of Auditors and the Ombudsman, and any other institutional and corporate administrations, including those of the European Union and/or any other foreign administration in civil, criminal, bankruptcy, administrative, economic-administrative and contentious, governmental, labour, fiscal and ecclesiastical matters of all levels of jurisdiction and instances.
  • 2. To promote, initiate, pursue, reply and terminate as plaintiff, applicant, intervener, requested, defendant, opponent, complainant, plaintiff or in any other capacity all kinds of proceedings, proceedings, lawsuits, claims, proceedings, exceptions, exceptions, declarations, claims, notarial summons, declarations, complaints and appeals, including cassation appeals, with the power to confess, formalise ratifications, withdrawals and acceptances.
  • 3. To approve and resolve the calls for the selective processes for the hiring of temporary staff.
  • 4. To deal with or formulate any labour claim, whether individual, collective or conflict-related, or any type of labour file, whether before the courts or tribunals of the social order or before the authorities and administrative bodies of any type, whether of the general, autonomous or local administration, provided that the amount is determined and does not exceed 150,000 euros.
  • 5. To participate on behalf of the Foundation in calls for incentives, subsidies, projects or grants announced by any public or private, national or foreign individual or legal entity.
  • 6. To apply on behalf of the Foundation at national and international level for administrative concessions of any kind, patents of invention and introduction and trademarks and, in general, any type of industrial and intellectual property right.
  • 7. To request, sign, obtain, renew and revoke authorisations and certificates of electronic signature in any of its modalities from public entities and other certification service providers.
  • 8. To grant, after informing the Delegated Commission, general powers of attorney for lawsuits with the usual powers thereof, excluding confession, in favour of lawyers and court solicitors.
  • 9. To approve, and report to the Delegate Commission, the collaboration agreements or agreements for the management of bio-health research funds obtained from private entities by means of donations, collaboration agreements in research matters and agreements related to industrial property, royalties and royalties.
  • 10. To approve and resolve calls for grants, subsidies and scholarships for amounts not exceeding 500,000 euros.

3.- Substitutions. By agreement of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation dated 15/12/2015, ‘the person occupying the post of Management Coordinator is appointed as substitute for the Director of Management in the event of vacancy, absence or illness, for the purpose of acting as drawer of the Foundation’s bank accounts’.

In none of the positions the holder is in special services or on leave of absence for service in the public sector or forced leave of absence for holding a representative position, whether directly elected or politically appointed.

Agreements governing working conditions

There is no company or sector collective bargaining agreement.

In labour matters, the provisions of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of 23 October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute Law, are applicable.
